Yearsley Group, Punching Above its Weight in Business of the Year Awards

Yearsley Group , the Frozen Food Sales, Cold Storage and Distribution Company, are this years finalist in the prestigious Manchester Evening News Business awards.

Competing in the top category for businesses with turnover in excess of £50m, Yearsley Group was up against the best companies from across the North West. Participation in three rounds of applications, presentations and interviews was necessary to inform the assembled judges why Yearsley Group should win. The company's national growth strategy over the last 5 years was cited. This strategy includes the building of additional depots throughout the country combined with the upgrading of existing depots and IT facilities to ensure unprecedented service levels for both storage and food sales clients are maintained.

The judges stated,

“A family-owned business that is punching well above its weight. We commend Yearsley Group's commitment to being the best in its field and its determination to offer its customers a truly nationwide service. Its directors' straight-forward and open approach was also evident.”

The awards were announced at a Gala Dinner in Manchester. The guest speaker was the Rt Hon William Hague MP. Prime Minister, Tony Blair also made an appearance via video screen. He praised all the finalists saying all were winners for having progressed so far in the prestigious competition.

We have seen strong growth over the last 5 years and to be recognised by the business community for our achievements in our 50 th anniversary year is something we are immensely proud of.”
