£20m+ buys 5 Cold Stores for Yearsley Group and Safeguards 435 Jobs

In deals worth more than £20 million Yearsley Group has acquired five more cold storage and distribution depots in the last two months. The deals safeguard 435 jobs and take the number of depots operated by Yearsley Group to 13.

The 5 cold stores at Bristol, Scunthorpe, Chesterfield and Newark were originally leased by Innovate Logistics. Following their acquisition by Yearsley Group the cold stores continued to be let on a short term basis. The decision to purchase was explained by Managing Director Harry Yearsley, "The on-going successful integration of the Innovate Frozen business and the signing of several long term storage and distribution contracts with major blue chip clients meant we had to guarantee quality storage space." He also commented that, "We have a strong growth strategy over the coming 5 year period and these sites will not be our last purchase."

Yearsley Group is the market leader in the sale, storage and distribution of frozen foods, with a total of 330,000 pallet sites and 300 vehicles moving over 50,000 pallets a week.
